The once fierce justice minister in Mwai Kibaki government noted that since Raila and Uhuru’s famous handshake, Kenya no longer has a strong opposition to offer oversight.

Karua further said that it was time Raila told Kenyans whether he was joining government or remaining in opposition.

While speaking to NTV on Tuesday night, the iron lady decried the watering down of the constitution through the handshake, since it only recognizes the majority and the minority side.

“The unofficial arrangement between ODM and Jubilee is unconstitutional and untenable. Our Constitution is very clear that there shall be a majority

party and a minority one. The ODM Party members are still holding positions for the minority side and collecting packs yet they aren’t delivering to Kenyans,” said Karua.

She further noted that Uhuru has been sleeping on his job since his re-election in 2017 and that ODM and Raila are more pro Jubilee that the president himself in the articulation of government policies.

“It is okay to have a handshake and a unity of purpose but you have to decide whether you’re in Opposition or government. ODM is now having their cake and eating it. If you listen in Parliament, the people articulating gov’t policies the loudest are in ODM not Jubilee. And outside Parliament, the former PM is the one who articulates government policy better than Uhuru.” continued Karua.

‘Mafya House Cartel’

Last week, Karua in a press conference at her party offices in Nairobi demanded for the accountability of all donor funds related to covid-19.

“We demand full disclosure, transparency and accountability for all Covid-19 funds, resources and equipment from all sources including loans, grants, donations and in-kind support both locally and internationally,” Karua said at her Narc Kenya party offices in Nairobi.

The iron lady told Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe to take full responsibility over the alleged misuse of covid-19 funds.

“CS Kagwe needs to make up his mind whether he wants to be the boss of Afya (Health) House or Mafya (Cartel),”

And regarding the famous handshake, Karua dismissed the outfit, arguing that it was akin to building a bridge where there was no river.
