According to NTV reporter, President Uhuru Kenyatta addressed members of Parliament and senators behind closed doors, no media personnel was allowed ever near the dome where the meeting is taking place. Though the most surprising thing is that even the presidential security including his Aide-de-Camp left the dome. All the MPs and Senators attending were not allowed to talk to journalist

The meeting is taking place at the great Rift Hotel in Naivasha and according to NTV journalists only legislators who are supporting the BBI report are attending the meeting despite majority leader in National Assembly Amos Kimunya claiming that all legislatures are attending.

It’s also reported that President Uhuru wants the report to be implemented the way it is without any modification, this is contrary to what he said at the Bomas of Kenya during its launch.

Soy MP Hon Caleb Kositany in the morning told Citizen TV that they were not invited to Naivasha and when they asked why they had not received invitation letters they were told attendees of the meeting were being invited in phases due to COVID-19 pandemic.

President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga will today meet MPs and senators in Naivasha to deliberate on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).

Yesterday, National Assembly Majority Leader Amos Kimunya said the meeting is aimed at familiarising the parliamentarians with the BBI report.

“We have a team of experts who are here to explain to the MPs the BBI process, the contents of the report and how it seeks to address areas identified as causing disunity in the country,” said Kimunya.
